Nikki Couppee

Nikki Couppee makes one-of-a-kind over-the-top-opulent pieces that evoke the neon palettes of her childhood—Lisa Frank, troll dolls, and Florida beach life. She uses nontraditional materials to make her jewels such as acrylic, resin, fishing lures, faux flowers, and all kinds of collected bits and pieces gleaned from thrifted clothing, old shoes, and craft supply hoards. Nikki is inspired by the aesthetic of 17th century royal jewelry yet her lowbrow materials, asymmetrical designs, and bright colors exaggerate these origins to near absurdity. Nikki’s work has a lot of personality and is fun to wear.
