Märta Mattsson

Stockholm, Sweden based jeweler Marta Mattsson draws inspiration from her childhood experiences playing with stuffed animals and slugs. She finds beauty in what others are often repulsed by. Marta takes unconventional and inappropriate materials like bugs, glitter, wood, natural parchment, and resin and translates them into fantastical ornaments. Drawing on the 18th century concept of cabinets of curiosity, Marta’s pieces are oddly extraordinary, evoking wonder and marvel.
